How to make spiralized flavoured water

I love sharing the simplest of recipes – not just because they are hardly recipes at all – but also because I really do delight in the simplicity of healthy, clean-eating food! There’s something so crisp and refreshing not just about the food itself but the fact that it can take just a few moments to whizz up something rather fab in the kitchen!

This recipe is an absolute delight. It is complete refreshment in a glass and looks so dazzling on the dinner table. It will dazzle on any party, lunch or supper table too and is a really simple way to enjoy fruits every day.

Basically the recipe I want to share with you is flavoured water. Yeah, I know. Too simple right…?

I discovered this recipe while spiralizing in our demo kitchen for the photoshoot of my recipe collection Spiralize!  I was keeping some finely spiralized apples wet and fresh ready for being photographed. I had a large jug and just pushed as much apple noodles in there as possible. The thing is the shoot lasted quite some time so I guess the noodles were in there for a good couple of hours. As often happens in a shoot, we didn’t need the noodles in the end and as I was feeling particularly parched I poured myself a glass of the noodle ‘squash’ that I had created.

Wow! It was totally refreshing! I tasted absolutely divine and was the perfect thirst quencher. It was so sweet! And really appley – it was just like a squash (cordial) It looked absolutely awesome and reminded me of the sugar laden cordial drinks that I used to love drinking daily! Not only did it taste completely fab it looked so darn pretty too.

So I now serve this up at my retreats as it makes any table look just perfect!

Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 Pink Lady Apples (or any apple!)
  • At least 1 ltr. of filtered chilled water

MethodThe ProSpiralizer

  • Using your ProSpiralizer™ on blade 1 or 2 create fine noodles with your apple. Do not peel the apple and make sure you compost the core!
  • Place apple noodles in a carafe or jug of chilled water and allow to sit for a couple of hours before serving.
