I love juicing. I really do. Most people who know me know this. It’s become a very big part of who I am since I started my juicing journey.
I don’t juice all day everyday – I do eat solid foods and lots of it! – but I do love, love, love a great juice! At least once a day.
When I first started juicing I was obsessed with getting the ‘combinations’ right. Getting the recipe just-so. Getting all the ingredients together and getting everything just right – an inch of this and a cup of that. The benefits of some juices are massively enhanced by getting the combinations just perfect. Finding the perfect juice recipe that tastes just like apple pie is lots of fun!
At times, however, I was finding it all a bit stressful making sure that I perfected each juice recipe. I had to keep reminding myself that it’s just juicing! I never used to get so stressed making a sandwich – you have some bread – you know what you like – you fill the sandwich e voila! Juicing was different and I just don’t need that kind of stress in my life – however small the stresses are! It was just not helpful. I want something more free and easy. More random. More my own.
Over time I have realised that as much as I just LOVE the combined flavours of some great smoothies and juices – I really do like to keep things simple most of the time.
I love mono juices. I really do!
Most of my juice recipes are based on 2 or 3 ingredients maximum. I like to keep things simple. Not complex. Easy to manage. Without having bits and bobs of fruits and veggies left over in the fridge once my juice making is over. In my ebook Raw7 – Juicing & Raw for Weight Loss 7-Day Plan – there are 12 recipes for the first 4 days of juicing. All simple, non complex juices to help you get in the juicy groove, get practiced with using a juicer, understand what juices you like and don’t like and to just get started with juicing.
Now I only tend to make more complex juices when I am having a fridge clear-out and I just want to use stuff up! Boom! Love it.
I have a couple of orange press juicers – which are just awesome! My orange juicers of choice are down to two: Tribest CitriStar and The Citrus Press from Sage. Love them both dearly! The CitriStar because it’s a powerhouse! A small but mighty juicer loaded with punch, a robust motor and small enough to pop back in the cupboard or take on the road. The Sage model is a design delight. It’s a sensational juicer that does an outstanding job – you don’t want to put this one back in the cupboards. It’s a display item for sure as the design is truly great.
And while playing with these awesome kitchen gadgets I realised one thing – how much I LOVE orange juice – just as it is.
Orange juice is loaded with vitamin C and helps with inflammation. It’s an awesome health drink – but don’t be fooled by long-life cartoned products. Unless you have squeezed it yourself or bought it freshly pressed – be wary. Lots of products out there with added nasties.
Keep it simple. Keep it fresh. Enjoy your food. Just as it is.
If you would like to grab yourself an amazing orange press then I would thoroughly recommend the Tribest CitriStar Juicer and The Citrus Press from Sage. I am currently running promotions on both of these juicers if you are interested in a 20% discount while stocks last please email me at email@example.com
