Such an easy to make tasty recipe! I struggle making raw houmus. I have tried the sprouted chick pea version but I love to taste more gooey oomph in a houmus which is just missing from so many recipes! I have been playing with recipes lately and have tweaked my recipe for Mash (from my ebook A Raw Christmas) and created a houmus! I always thought that my mash recipe would make a great dip with a few tweaks and additions – and I was right! Here it is – enjoy! I hope you absolutely love it as much as I do!
- Half raw organic cauliflower
- 1/2 cup cashew nut butter
- juice of one lemon
- drizzle of cold pressed rapeseed oil
- big pinch himalayan salt
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
- big pinch crushed black pepper
Break down the cauliflower in a food processor on the ‘S’ blade and gradually add everything else. Add more lemon juice to reach the consistency you desire. I like it thick and gooey. Serve with a big green salad and crunchy crudites.
Cauliflower is soooo good for you! Just one serving of cauliflower contains 77 percent of the recommended daily value of vitamin C! And it is loaded with dietary fibre which helps with digestion. As well as a whole host of other vits and minerals it is a wonderful anti -inflammatory and an all round health booster.
