My three main approaches to ‘going raw’:

Even though it is (always!) kind of weird sharing those before and after photos I am thrilled to have another opportunity to share my story with others in the hope that it will inspire even just one person to make changes for the better.

My feature story in the Daily Mail certainly turned a few heads as it’s not often that ‘mainstream media’ profile the raw foodies other than showing us as a group of flip-flop-wearing-juice-guzzling-hippies.  So – thumbs up to the Mail for that! I guess I will still never get used to seeing things written about me or ever accept the full value of seeing my fat photos ‘out there’ – eek! Because going RAW isn’t just about losing weight (er, well it is, but…) it’s about being HEALTHY and feeling frickin AWESOME!

Following the feature in Femail I received a barrage of emails from lovely people with words of encouragement and questions about going raw for themselves. I was most asked – how do I start? What the hell does ‘going raw’ mean? So, I thought it would be helpful to break it down into 3 easy approaches to going raw:

 

1) GREEN BREAKFASTS

When I talk about ‘going raw’ I mean – for most people just swapping out a ‘regular breakfast’ for a green juice is enough. I mean let’s face it – that’s a MASSIVE step in the right direction! MASSIVE! And I take my hat off to anyone who can do that. Health improvements are in the bag.

2) REGULAR JUICE FASTS

For those looking to ‘do a juice fast’ from time to time – and don’t want to really make any other big changes – WONDERFUL! You are giving your body the break from processed foods that it needs to reset and focus on repair. Health improvements are also in the bag.

3) ADOPTING A JUICING & RAW LIFESTYLE

For people who want to take MASSIVE ACTION and step into a world of unlimited health benefits and try out a full on raw diet (anything from 50-100% raw) WOWSERS – you are really going for it! And I commend you. Everything for you is about to change. Health improvements are in the bag – and you will be catapulting your health and energy levels into the next stratosphere!

Of course, there are lots of other approaches, but for me these three capture the main ways that you can begin to ’embrace raw’. Knowing what’s right for you is sometimes intuitive and at other times you might want to ask for help from someone who has been there. That’s where someone like me comes in – I help people work out which approach is right for them and then help out until they are flying solo. That’s about it. That’s what I do.

You don’t have to be fat to explore raw.

After all, we all need friends to help us. And it’s not just about losing weight, as I said earlier. You don’t have to be fat to need to get healthy. Understanding the healing practice of living foods and high vibrational living and how to live daily with natural products, including foods, as part of ‘the raw lifestyle.’
