Here in the UK the Winter is about to really kick-in and after a long summer I think it’s going to be quite a shock to the system! It’s also a time when lots of us suffer from colds and our immune systems need a little support to fight off the dreaded cold and flu symptoms: runny noses, headaches, blocked sinuses, earraches and a sore throat. Generally feeling run down and a bit fed up.
Instead of running to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom (or wherever it is that you keep your chemistry set of tablets!) try this instead. Work with natures medicine cabinet of cold fighting immune boosters!
- 2 apples
- 1/2 lemon
- big chunk ginger (at least thumb sized)
- Sprinkles of nutmeg and cinnamon
Juice the above and garnish with the nutmeg and cinnamon sprinkles. Yummy! Drink three times a day before eating for best results. Keep yourself warm, dry and hydrated. There’s no better time to drink plenty of water. Your body needs it for repair.
Try adding fresh turmeric root for an extra boost or sprinkle some organic turmeric powder on the top for something extra.
And why wait until the cold takes hold of you? Keep your immune system boosted and karate chopping those pesky viruses by taking lots of ginger juices throughout winter.
It’s going to be a cold one folks so get ready!
